The Peoria Riverfront Museum is our generation’s “civic center” moment. In the same spirit as the civic leaders of our 30 years ago conceived and then created the Peoria Civic Center, a group of equally committed civic leaders pursued this dream tirelessly until it became a brick and mortar reality. And when it came time for the citizens of Peoria County to step up and shoulder the load, they did. This endeavor is a testament to the leaders and residents of central Illinois. This successful collaborative effort of business, labor and government will be the model for future projects.
